Issey Miyake is a Japanese High-end fashion brand with global reputation that fulfilled with eastern aesthetics. This store located in Chicago downtown inspired by one of the life philosophy named “Wabi-Sabi” that represents Imperfection, aged, weathered and an attitude that accept those loss. Since modern “Wabi-Sabi” philosophy are no longer represent sadness but a positive attitude to life, neutral color such as bronze, brown, grey, black and beige plus deep red as ascent color would reveal an optimistic atmosphere in Wabi-Sabi aura.  The use of natural and rough materials brings the natural touching feelings. The façade is combined by three random shape bronze panels in different layers, and the last layer is made by pure concrete. The three bronze panels will change their colors and the touch as time changes. The whole space separate by the outside stone wall with Ivy plant also change its colors and shapes as weather changes, and there is a footpath between the main store and the outside wall. The main store are surrounded by glass wall provides a direct view of natural space. The combination with wood and concrete flooring mimic the Wabi-sabi feeling. The shelfs and garment racks are all made by natural materials like branches, several giant stones will replace normal rounded display counter. Two columns are surrounded by rice paper which bring a scenes of Asia to the place. Two pendant lamps are hanged in the front and back ceiling made by plenty of acrylic pieces. Track light with extendable holder will highlighted the displays. The pendant lamp that has organic shape and extended golden wires brought in modern feeling. Whole space remains the perceiving of harmony with primitive ecology.
